On our shop, you will see information on the margin (also called "premium") for each product just below its price. We have 3 different indications, depending on the type of products:
Margin per ounce: this indicator calculates the margin for each ounce of metal contained in the product, it is mainly used for larger products.
Margin per coin/bar: this indicator shows the total margin for the product, it is mainly used for smaller products (less than 1 oz) as the margin per ounce would be leFew readersHow can I change the currency on the website?

Because of its lower density and price per ounce, silver is often bought in larger quantities and therefore will take up more storage space than gold, which will have an impact on its overall margin.

Here is the composition of a product's price:
TOTAL PRICE: This is the price you will pay to purchase a product. It is composed of the metal value, the margin, and the VAT (Note: gold is VAT-free in Switzerland).
METAL VALUE: This is the amount you see in your wallet, what you will receive if you sell this product back to us immediately. GOLD AVENUE does not take any commission on the buyback and will pay you the full metal value at the time of your sale.

Palladium and platinum are both rare precious metal. They are produced in much smaller quantities than gold for example. Because of these low volumes, their extraction and production costs are also higher.
The rarer a metal is, the higher its margin usually is.
Also, with higher financing prices due to lower demand and higher price volatility than gold, storing platinum and palladium will cost us more than keeping gold in stock for example.Few readersWhy is there a price difference between products with the same weight?
The price difference between two products of the same weight come from their margin level. The margin (also called "premium") is the part of the price covering our costs and reseller's margin, it varies depending on the product’s rarity, craftsmanship, and its associated costs (production, handling, warehousing, etc.).

Our prices are set by the market makers of the MKS PAMP GROUP and are based on the London LBMA Gold Price. The Fixing is done at 10:30 and 15:00 (London time).
